Helping Hands was birthed out of compassion for all those who need the Blessing of more Time and Peace of Mind. It is for Senior Adults who don’t want to lose their independence, but they acknowledge the fact they could use some help. It is for the Adult children or family members who are trying to be there for their loved ones as much as possible, but the demands on their time and other responsibilities are overbearing. It is for families who want their loved one to have someone there when they have to leave them at the hospital or a skilled nursing facility, and for those during a time of transition and healing, from the hospital or nursing facility back to their home. Whatever your need is, as your Companion in Care, we are committed to being there for you and your loved ones.

Our Care Team consists of CNAs, Care Providers & Personal Assistants who have at least one year of experience.  The vetting of applicants includes doing two interviews and pulling a nationwide background check with a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agency.  We thoroughly check business and personal character references using the state guidelines.  Twelve-panel drug screening and TB Skin testing are done at a medical office.  In addition, the Sex Offender & Abuse Registries are checked and MVRs are pulled on new hires.  Along with the Background Check they are done on an annual basis.  

We give prayerful consideration in placing the right Assistant with you or your loved one.  Once the Companion is selected they will be trained for you or your loved one’s personal care support along with the requirements of the Care Plan which includes daily, weekly, and as-needed services.  Our Care Team is made up of individuals who take a personal interest in the people they assist.  As Helpers, they will make every effort to keep them engaged in the things they enjoy doing.  

New employees are trained on Infectious Disease Control, Emergency Preparedness, Elder Abuse, HIPAA Law, Communication & Documentation, and Transferring Clients which includes training on the Hoyer Lift.  They also do four video workshops on Alzheimers/Dementia training. Our employees receive their CPR & First Aid Certification, and their Caregiver Certification. We recently added the National Safety Council Defensive Driving Course Certification.  

Ongoing training consists of 24-hour access to more than 500+ online courses taught by Registered nurses specifically for Caregivers and CNAs. We have an excellent staff that welcomes and helps new employees and each other.  They all make a great team and are the real reason Helping Hands is consistently voted the Best of the Best.
